Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

For anxious children, teens and young adults (ages 7-25)

CBT is a state of the art, evidence-based psychotherapy treatment for anxiety and depression. It focuses on helping identify and challenge anxious thoughts or cognitive distortions (including thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) that help maintain anxiety and the associated behaviors (usually avoidance of feared situations). Clients learn to use coping thoughts and actions to approach feared situations, rather than avoiding them, a process known as behavioral exposure. CBT is highly effective in treating anxiety and depression in children and adolescents.
